Life with Macey - 7-8 months

Published: Jun 17, 2020 · Modified: Jun 5, 2021 by Laura · This post may contain affiliate links.

8 months with our precious baby girl! Here's everything Macey has been up to for the last couple of months!

If all babies were like Macey, give me 100! This child is just the cruisiest, most content baby I have ever known!

She is such a quiet, calm baby. In her whole 8 months, I can count on one hand the number of times she has been unsettled - and not one of those times have we been unable to settle her quickly.

Incredibly she is still sleeping well and is in an amazing routine - right around 7 months old she had a few days where I couldn't get her down for the last nap of the day - and I was having to wake her from her earlier naps to make sure she was awake long enough to be tired again, so we dropped the last nap and now she has 2 longer naps - one around 9.30am for about 90 minutes and then another at 2.30pm for another 90 minutes/2 hours. She is amazing! 9/10 nights she sleeps all night and if she does wake, it's just for a quick feed and then she goes back down no trouble.

Macey is also on the move! She is commando crawling on her belly and is showing no signs of crawling properly! She can get around, but only goes a few metres if there is a toy she wants - otherwise she is happy just lying in one spot. Like I said - such a content baby!

And she loves her food - right from the word go, at about 6.5 months she has eaten anything I give her. She demolishes purees like I'm going to talk them away from her and will try anything - so far there is nothing she has tried that she doesn't like!

Of course the major thing that happened during this time was the outbreak of Covid-19 and going into lockdown! It's pretty amazing to think that she will learn about this in the future and will have no clue she lived through it! All it meant for Macey was lots of time at home in a great routine. But not being able to see most of our family and friends was pretty tough - she changed a whole lot over this time!

We also celebrated her first Easter - in true Macey style she slept through the whole Easter egg hunt (not that she was allowed to eat the eggs anyway!) But she was a good sport and put on some bunny ears for a photo!

Other than the usual eating and sleeping, Macey loves being in the front pack, being outside, anything Sadie does, putting things in her mouth, having a shower and hanging out on the floor. She doesn't particularly like it when she can't see me but other than that, there's not much she doesn't like! And it's not like I go anywhere without her!

She just brings us so much joy every day with her cheeky grin and the look in her eye that makes us think she is going to be trouble later on! We love you so much Macey!
