30 weeks….3-0. Stop please. When did this even happen??? 7 weeks of work left, 10 weeks (hopefully!) until we have a tiny human being moving into our house…it’s definitely starting to feel a bit more real now!
Bump size: HUGE! Well, people still tell me it’s tiny but it feels pretty big to me!
Size of baby: Baby is as big as a cabbage, about 40cm long and weighs about 1.3kg…getting big!
Weight gain? About another 1.5kg since last time which over 4 weeks probably isn’t that bad… I did have a moment and have to Google the “healthy weight gain for pregnancy” and I’m still 100% in the ballpark. Just for my peace of mind!
Boy or girl? Still no ideas/thoughts/inklings. Just excited to find out!Cravings/aversions: Nothing new here – except that first trimester cheesy bread things have made a bit of a comeback. Also, our dinner schedule over the weekend involved pizza, tacos & burgers so clearly we are working on a pub food type menu!
General feelings: Still feeling really great! Plus now I keep getting caught off guard by these little moments of extreme excitement that we are getting so close to having a little baby of our own that make me want to squeal! These moments typically happen when 1. I see a cute baby 2. someone talks about babies 3. I walk into a baby shop and see cute things 4. I think about our baby 5. specifically when I bought a little yellow and white onesie with sheep on it. I died. So you know, kind of a lot of the time! Physically I am definitely feeling pregnant now. My belly is starting to feel heavy and I can feel that my center of gravity is a little off. Getting on a step ladder to take photos/paint the room is starting to get a little risky…haha
Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery! My sister came out over the weekend and helped me start to paint which was great. I just have the top coat to go, then the new carpet goes down and we can decorate it pretty!
Missing anything? Being able to fit a lot of my clothes! And being able to throw my jeans in for later, assuming they’ll fit when it turns out they don’t button up anymore…
Movement: Still so much and I can make out parts of the baby when it’s right up against my belly. I can’t tell exactly what they are but there has been something that feels suspiciously like a little foot or hand up by my rib cage which is pretty cool!
What I’ve been loving: Starting to get prepared with decorating the nursery, feeling lots of baby like movements and narrowing down our name list! We have a couple of definite favourites for both boys and girls now which is really exciting!
What I’ve not been loving: Getting comfortable to go to sleep is starting to become a little bit harder but once I’m asleep I’m fine. And dealing with late nights has been tricky – they seem to make me a little emotional the next day and poor Josh has to deal with the waterworks that sometimes accompany that!
Maternity clothes? Jeans no longer fit…eeeek! And my dresses are suddenly too short to wear thanks to a massive protrusion out my front. But I think getting to 30 weeks is pretty good going! Shorts & singlets are still fitting but my work wardrobe is becoming a bit more limited.
