    Sadie is 2!

Published: Aug 9, 2019 · Modified: Jun 5, 2021 by Laura · This post may contain affiliate links.

As a parent, the biggest thing that I've learnt is that I am pretty much never going to be on time for anything, ever again and that goes for these updates too! I just really wanted to get it done before this next baby joins us as I know I'll be even more behind once that happens!

Sadie turned 2 at the end of May and I seriously do not know how that happened so fast. The last year has just flown by and we now have a real little girl, not just a baby anymore!

Sadie is the biggest chatterbox and is talking in amazing sentences. She picked up all the animals noises first, followed by Mum, Dad, Sage and T (for her big cousin Teagan) and peas for please! She went from one or 2 words at a time to 4 or 5 word sentences really quickly which has made our lives so easy - she is very good at communicating what she wants!

Sadie is turning into a really confident kid. She is a real observer - if we go somewhere new she will hang out by me for a while until she is comfortable but then gets involved which is so interesting as she has been like this right from when she was tiny too. She loves playing with other kids and is obsessed with her 2 younger cousins and has lots of friends now that she loves spending time with.

We started going to our local Playcentre not long after she turned 1 which has been so much fun! They have a huge sandpit and playground which Sadie loves and it's nice having somewhere to go that is only a few minutes drive from our house. Lately she has been obsessed with the baby dolls too which we are definitely encouraging and have bought her one to give to her when our baby is born!

She is still a great eater - she will try everything and loves most things. She's not a big meat eater but eats plenty of veggies straight from the garden and pretty much anything else we give her. Strawberries and blueberries (fresh or frozen!) are her favourite - the biggest battle over summer was teaching her that red strawberries are good, not the green ones but by the end of summer we had it sorted! She is super adventurous when it comes to trying new things and even likes food that's a "little bit spicy".

Her best friend in the whole world is most definitely our dog Sage - it's so much fun watching them play together - especially when they don't know I'm watching! Sadie loves nothing more than being outside - swinging, jumping in puddles, playing in the sandpit we built for Christmas and going up the farm with Dad to feed the cows. Even in the middle of winter I still have to drag her inside against her will as it is getting dark!

Sadie is the sweetest little girl - she gives the best cuddles and kisses and lately has been coming up and cuddling my belly - giving the baby a cuddle. She spends lots of time with her grandparents and loves them all so much.

She loves doing puzzles, reading stories, helping me in the kitchen and the garden and playing with her friends. She doesn't like getting dressed, sleeping all night (still!) having her nappy changed or when we try to do things for her that she wants to do herself!

We are so excited to watch her become a big sister very soon and know she is going to be the best!
