Hello Laura and every yoghurt maker,
My second batch of yoghurt did not go right.
Full milk milk powder with vanilla .
Leave it overnight in the oven and I ended up with a layer of yoghurt with a layer of Whey.
What do you do with it??
Filter it through a hankerchief on the bench.
Result?? A very thick layer of Greek yoguhrt which you could cut in slices.
I poored some whey back in stirred if well and Voila.
I had greek yoghurt.
De question left is:
what kan I possibly do with the left over whey??
Laura says
Hi Peter, I sometimes find that the yoghurt has a layer of whey after incubating, you can either pour it off, stir it in for a thinner yoghurt or strain it as you did for a very thick Greek style yoghurt! Sounds like you had success, that's brilliant!
A quick Google search for what to do with whey will give many ideas - some use it in smoothies, some use it to water plants. Personally I just tip it down the sink as it's not often much for me but do what suits you!

Hiya!
I have tried two of your recipes and they are great! Namely because they are easy and require ingredients which I have in the cupboard, yet are so tasty!
I don't suppose you have a recipe for a stew??
Laura says
Hi Krissy! Thank you so much! Not on here actually but I'll add it to the winter list! Laura

Hi Laura
I tried the recipe for the BBQ pork strips and it worked really well (although I did add some liquid smoke) but I'm wondering if the sauce would work well as a marinade, sorry if its an obvious question but I'm a bit dense when it comes to cooking
Cheers
Mark
Laura says
Hi Mark! Ooo I've never used liquid smoke but I bet that would be delicious...I'll have to try it! You could definitely use the sauce as a marinade...I would probably add a squeeze of lime juice to help tenderise the meat a little bit too. I might try it as a marinade next time and see how it goes! Thanks for reading 🙂
