2025 Homestead Planner

There is so much involved in growing and maintaining a homestead that it can be totally overwhelming if you are not organised.

One thing I’ve found that has helped me immensely over the years has been keeping records and writing things down for every area of our homestead and in my day to day life too. It helps me stay on track with my goals, remember what I’ve done previously and just get the massive lists out of my head and onto paper! 

To get started using your planner, print each section of the planner. It is set up to print to A4 paper and print it double sided, flipping on the long edge. You can print in colour or black and white.

You can then either put it in a ring binder or take it to a print house and have them bind and cover it for you - I have done this before and it cost under $10 and it works really well and keeps it all together for the year.

The way I have organised this planner is as follows:

The yearly planner

• Homestead goal planner - the perfect place to write down the goals you hope to achieve this year - I like to break our goals down into categories such as kitchen, garden, animals, skills, equipment, etc
• Month at a glance calendar to see what is coming up for you
• Monthly projects/to do lists with priorities and a project page to help you break down your goals into manageable sections
• Extra note pages for whatever else you need to write down
• Weekly spread planner with spaces for meal plans, to do lists and the day broken down into hourly sections. There are also 4 spaces at the bottom that I sort into categories of things I need to get done that week such as house work, garden, family commitments and work commitments.

  • Planting log to keep track of what and where you are planting seedlings in your garden
  • Harvest log to keep track of what you are harvesting out of the garden!
• In the paddock
  • Animal health records - to keep track of drenching, worming or other treatment that any of your animals require throughout the year
  • Animal butchering log for keeping records of any animals you have grown and raised for meat and what you end up with
  • Animal feed log to keep track of how much feed you are going through and costs
